Erie County Commissioners on June 18 authorized county staff to advertise for bids on the Phase 7 cell construction of the county landfill, a project County Administrator Hank Solowiej said carries an estimated construction cost of $6.5 million.
Solowiej told the board the next steps are standard procurement procedures: the Purchasing Coordinator will advertise for proposals, hold a pre-bid meeting and open bids. He described the project as an important infrastructure item that needs to move forward.
The board approved the request to advertise for proposals and authorized the Purchasing Coordinator to proceed with the bid process; the motion carried on voice/roll call as recorded in the minutes.
