Erie County reports revenue gains and approves $152,590 CourtView maintenance contract

Erie County Administrator Hank Solowiej told the Erie County Commissioners on Feb. 11 that lodging-tax receipts for February were “approximately $284,000,” up about 9% year-to-date compared with the same period last year, and that the county collected “approximately $1.6 million in sales-tax revenue” in February, a roughly 3% increase from the prior February and nearly 7% higher year-to-date.
Those revenue figures framed a series of fiscal actions the board approved that morning. On motions by Mr. Shoffner, seconded by Mr. Old and adopted by roll call (both aye), the commissioners authorized budget modifications and supplemental appropriations across several funds — including the Commissioners General fund, multiple Operation Stonegarden funds (FY2022–FY2024), the SANE Continuous Fund and the Employee Self‑Insurance Fund — and approved a budget modification for the Erie County sewer fund.
The board also approved revised Auditor’s Certificates that included an additional $152,590 to CourtView Justice Solutions Inc. for software maintenance supporting the Clerk of Courts, Juvenile Court and Common Pleas Court — Civil Division. The certificate list also included an additional $30,000 to Med1Care for staffing at The Meadows at Osborn Park and smaller adjustments to Transit Safety/Vestige for Duress/GPS tracking devices and holsters.
Other fiscal and procurement items approved that morning included a resolution authorizing then-and-now payments to a group of vendors, a motion declaring excess equipment surplus for sale by internet auction, and a contract with Ninke Lawn Services, Inc. for lawn and landscape maintenance at The Meadows at Osborn Park for $18,400.
County staff also presented routine financial and departmental reports: a memo to the Erie County Budget Commission on revised 2026 estimated resources from Finance Manager Alyssa Heater, the auditor’s monthly financial report for the period ending Jan. 31, 2026, and the county engineer’s 2025 annual report.
The board recessed into an executive session later in the meeting to receive an overview of bargaining sessions with JFS public employees and then reconvened and adjourned.
