County Administrator Hank Solowiej told the Erie County Commissioners at their Feb. 18 regular session that February gas tax collections totaled $335,000, a 3% increase from the same month last year. He added that year-to-date collections are up about 1.1% compared with the prior year.
The report was presented as part of routine financial updates and was not followed by formal action. Commissioners did not request immediate changes to spending or revenue estimates during the meeting. The county later filed a memo on estimated resources with the Erie County Budget Commission, which the board received for the record.
The financial update provides context for upcoming budget work and grant decisions but included no proposal to change tax rates or transfer funds. The county will include collections data in its regular revenue monitoring and in the revised estimated resources transmitted to the Budget Commission.
