On Nov. 10, 2025, the Chase County Commissioners unanimously approved an e‑filing option for personal property returns recommended by Assessor Tori Mueller.
Mueller told the board the service would "cut down on postage expenses and data entry time" and allow taxpayers or their designees to file online using a PIN. She said the county would pay an initial website license fee of $1,000 and $250 annually, plus a separate initial CAMA personal‑property website fee of $2,500 and $1,750 annually; she told commissioners she has the available funds in her office budget to cover those costs.
The move is intended to reduce manual data entry and postage costs in the Assessor’s office by letting property owners, CPAs or other designees submit personal property information directly through Vanguard’s portal. Commissioner Billie Muehlenkamp made the motion to approve the e‑filing request; Commissioner Kurt Bernhardt seconded. The motion passed on a 3–0 vote (Muehlenkamp yes; Brown yes; Bernhardt yes).
The commissioners did not specify an implementation timeline in the meeting minutes; Assessor Mueller will oversee licensing and setup. A copy of the motion and related documentation is on file with the Chase County Clerk.
The approval authorizes county staff to proceed with purchasing the licenses and configuring the system for taxpayer access.
