Burleson County sets tire disposal fees, discusses RC&D funds and appoints new EMC to BVCOG board

Commissioner Dwayne Faust moved and Commissioner David Hildebrand seconded setting tire disposal rates at Precinct 1 as follows: $5 for tires 20 inches and under, $15 for tires 21 inches and up, and $25 for tractor tires. Tire collection will be held Monday and Wednesday only; Saturday collection was removed. The motion passed unanimously.
During a workshop the court reviewed Post Oak RC&D funds with $36,039 noted as available for tire disposal and illegal dump clean-up and discussion of potential public water system projects; the minutes list this as a workshop topic and do not record a formal allocation vote at this meeting.
The court approved appointing Tyler Eller to the BVCOG Homeland Security Board, replacing Duane Strange. Judge Keith Schroeder also welcomed Tyler Eller as the county’s new Emergency Management Coordinator in the meeting record.
Judge Schroeder reported collection figures (misdemeanor $9,243.21; felony $1,160.00) and said he and Raileen are working on a flood litigation project. The county auditor reported sales tax receipts of $147,967, an increase of 28% ($32,432) from the September 2024 adjusted payment; the FY2024 Annual Financial Report is under review and scheduled for presentation on Oct. 14, 2025.
The meeting concluded with authorization for payment of bills and adjournment by unanimous vote.
