Burleson County commissioners approve budget amendments, grant certifications and routine business

Burleson County Commissioners Court unanimously approved a slate of consent-agenda measures at its Nov. 10, 2025 meeting in Caldwell, including budget amendments, certification of grant proceeds and several personnel and administrative actions.

The court, presided over by County Judge Keith Schroeder, adopted October 2025 minutes and accepted donations: $200 to the Sheriff’s Department and a $1,000 award to Keep Burleson County Beautiful. The County Auditor certified three grant proceeds and special budgets: $22,800 from a 2022 GLO CDBG‑MIT grant; $92,678.53 from a FY2025‑26 Homeland Security grant for enhancing elections security; and $61,928.87 for a FY2025 Victim Assistance Coordinator grant. Later the court ratified acceptance of a separate Office of the Governor FY2026 Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) award of $71,134.32 for the Victim Assistance Coordinator program.

Commissioner David Hildebrand moved to approve the consent agenda; Commissioner Vincent Svec seconded. The record states, “All voted Aye. None voted No. It is so Ordered.”

Other approved items included FY2025 budget amendments across multiple offices (listed in the meeting packet), the Treasurer’s monthly reports for August and September 2025 and the Treasurer’s 4QFY2025 Investment Report. The court also approved a plat amendment for Kachina Vista Phase 1, Lot 45R, Block 1, and authorized the County Auditor to electronically submit an annual Equitable Sharing certification with the U.S. Department of Justice on behalf of the Sheriff and County Judge.

Those actions are part of the court’s regular fiscal and administrative oversight; the motions recorded in the minutes were carried unanimously. The court moved on to other agenda items after the consent agenda.
