Resident urges Hwy 36 upgrades and local group seeks county advocacy for Heart Gallery

Cathy Locke addressed the court about the condition of Hwy 36 between Lyons and Milano, saying the road "have not been upgraded and are in desperate need of being widened." Locke said there is a need for more patrol presence and cited fatalities, telling the court that "over the past few years, there has been 12 fatalities (vehicles) and 20 body fatalities," as stated in the meeting minutes. The minutes do not record a formal county response or an immediate plan of action; the comment was entered during the public forum.
The public comments were part of a broader regular meeting that included departmental reports and several unanimous votes on county business.
