Burleson County Commissioners Court unanimously approved a slate of routine and programmatic items at its March 24 meeting in Caldwell.
The court approved a right-of-way permit for the 2025 Bike MS: Texas MS 150, and a mass gathering permit for the Crater Rally at Welch Park (May 15–18, 2025), motions moved and seconded by Commissioners Vincent Svec and Bobby Urbanosky and approved by all members. The court also approved an amended plat for Brazos River Reserve pending a properly signed plat and a subdivision exception for property owned by Donald House on County Road 332.
On procurement, the court awarded technology equipment purchases under TIPS contract #230105 to SHI Government Solutions for $71,192.93, to be paid from the Office of the Governor’s Enhancing Elections Security in Burleson County Grant #4978501; Raileen Murray told the court the purchases cover cameras, sensors and cybersecurity switches. The court also approved a $25,000 contract with The Elections Group to prepare Written Information Security Program (WISP) manuals for the Elections Department, funded by the same grant.
The court authorized the auction of surplus county equipment and property and approved renewal of UBEO contracts for the County Clerk ($235 per month) and 911/Emergency Management ($240 per month). Commissioners also approved funding from the Road & Bridge General Fund to purchase an Olympus Mini Hercules Pugmill under TIPS-USA contract #221001; the meeting minutes did not specify the purchase price.
All roll-call votes recorded in the minutes were unanimous. The court also approved payment of bills and adjourned.
The court noted that the SHI technology purchase and the WISP contract are grant-funded; officials said the technology buys are intended to enhance election security systems.
