Burleson County commissioners unanimously approve RFQ for RAISE grant work, multiple subdivision exceptions and deputations

At its Jan. 27 meeting in Caldwell, Burleson County Commissioners Court unanimously approved issuing an RFQ tied to a USDOT RAISE planning grant, multiple subdivision exceptions, an interlocal subdivision regulation agreement with the City of Caldwell, deputations for deputy constables and other routine business.
Burleson County Commissioners Court met Jan. 27 in Caldwell and approved a slate of administrative and land-use actions, voting unanimously on each item.
The court voted to issue a Request for Qualifications seeking engineering and surveying services associated with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s FY 2025 RAISE planning grant. Commissioner Dwayne Faust made the motion and Commissioner David Hildebrand seconded it; the measure passed with all members voting in favor.
The court also approved deputizing Lesli Gomez as a deputy county clerk (motion by Commissioner Hildebrand, seconded by Commissioner Vincent Svec) and authorized proposed Deanville Water Supply Corporation water lines on County Road 130 and County Road 324 (motion by Commissioner Faust, seconded by Commissioner Hildebrand). Both actions passed unanimously.
Land-use items included approval of subdivision-exception requests for property associated with David Ausley and for Shawn and Wendy Loftus (motions by Commissioner David Hildebrand) and a unanimous denial of a variance request from Torah Land LLC that would have allowed on-site sewage facilities on parcels smaller than the county’s two-acre minimum.
The court approved an interlocal agreement with the City of Caldwell to regulate subdivisions inside Caldwell’s extraterritorial jurisdiction; the motion was made by Commissioner Hildebrand and seconded by Commissioner Svec and passed unanimously.
Commissioners confirmed deputations for several deputy constables — William Randall Hart (Pct. 1), Ronald Anderson (Pct. 2), Austin Elmore (Pct. 2) and Robert Glenn Campbell (Pct. 3) — and approved a Hotel/Motel funding application for the Burleson County Saddle Club. The court also authorized payment of county bills before adjourning.
