Madison County Board approves grants, purchases and contracts; summary of actions

At its Sept. 16 meeting the Madison County Board approved a number of committee-recommended resolutions, appropriations and purchases. Key approvals included:
- Immediate emergency appropriations: Adult Redeploy Illinois Program ($181,828), Juvenile Redeploy Illinois Program ($435,359), and Child Advocacy Center VOCA grant (total appropriation $441,908 including county match). (Finance & Gov't Ops Committee)
- Grants: Authorization to submit the 2021 Emergency Solutions Grant CARES Act application for approximately $584,427; Community Development designated as administering agency. (Grants Committee)
- Information Technology: Microsoft Software Assurance renewal ($47,815.16 via CDW-G) and Dell tape-drive and accessories purchase ($39,474.38 via Midwestern HE Compact). (Information Technology Committee)
- Records and communications: NetArchive appliance for Circuit Clerk ($54,623.60); Starcom-21 maintenance renewal for Sheriff's radio/dispatch ($68,232) funded across Sheriff admin, Godfrey, jail and court security funds; five-year Medical Priority Dispatch system contract for 911 ($368,979). - Policy and governance: Ordinance amending Madison County Purchasing Policy (Ordinance 2020-06) and adoption of a new Madison County Credit Card Policy. (Finance & Gov't Ops; Personnel & Labor Relations committees)
- Zoning and property: Reappointments to the Madison County Housing Authority; multiple zoning resolutions (Z20-0034, Z20-0036, Z20-0038) approved and authorization to demolish two unsafe structures (addresses and PINs listed in committee report). (Planning & Development)
- Capital and infrastructure contracts: Replacement screw pump bodies at SSA #1 ($71,000) and a Dura Patcher P3 spray-injection patcher for the Highway Department ($79,525). (Sewer Facilities and Transportation Committees)
Most of these items were approved unanimously or by large majorities; where detailed votes were recorded the transcript records a roll-call outcome. Individual committee members and chairs presented and recommended the items for board approval during the meeting.
