The Reeves County Groundwater Conservation District board elected Ben Burnham president and approved routine administrative and financial items at its Jan. 23 meeting in Pecos.
Vice President David Dominguez called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. After discussion about officer tenure, Cecil Lee moved and Nancy Martinez seconded a motion to elect Ben Burnham as president, David Dominguez as vice president and Ginny Barmore as secretary; the motion passed unanimously, 5-0. The board then approved the Dec. 19, 2024 meeting minutes on a motion by Cecil Lee, seconded by Ginny Barmore, and approved the December financial statements on a motion by Ginny Barmore, seconded by David Dominguez; both motions passed 5-0.
The board also voted, without discussion, to approve payment of December bills (motion by Cecil Lee; seconded by Nancy Martinez) and to accept the 4th Quarter Investment Report (motion by Ginny Barmore; seconded by Nancy Martinez), each by a 5-0 vote. The 4th Quarter Drought Report was accepted unanimously after a motion by Cecil Lee and a second from Nancy Martinez.
