Sheriff Eric Geske told the Parmer County Commissioners on April 22 that the county jail was housing 21 inmates and that all were from Parmer County.
Geske said Lubbock had moved inmates previously housed in Parmer County back to Lubbock. He flagged a staffing concern: if Joe Orozco is named the District Attorney's investigator, the city of Bovina could be left without a police department and the sheriff's office would need to provide coverage until the city hires new officers.
Deputy Yurban Salinas brought Basco, the K-9 officer, to introduce the K-9 to the court during the law enforcement update. There was no formal motion associated with the sheriff's update; commissioners acknowledged the report during the session.
