Parmer County commissioners approve routine fiscal items and employee bonds

Parmer County Judge Isabel Carrasco and the Commissioners Court approved a set of routine fiscal measures during the Aug. 12 regular session in Farwell, including minutes from the prior meeting, an accounts-payable list and payroll report, employee bonds and the county road-and-bridge fee.
Commissioner Kirk Frye moved to approve the previous meeting minutes; Commissioner Casey Russell seconded and the motion passed by a majority vote. Treasurer Sharon May presented the payroll report, and Commissioner Casey Russell moved to approve the accounts-payable list dated July 31, 2024; Commissioner Kenny White seconded and the court carried the motion by majority vote.
On personnel finance, Commissioner Kirk Frye moved to approve bonds for Parmer County employees; Commissioner Kenny White seconded and the motion passed. Judge Carrasco moved to approve the Parmer County Road and Bridge fee and Commissioner Charles Wilkins seconded; the Court approved the fee by majority vote.
These votes were taken as part of the Court’s regular agenda; no public comments were recorded during the open forum.
The Court adjourned the morning session at 11:35 a.m. and later reconvened for a budget workshop in the afternoon.
