Parmer County commissioners approve routine financial measures, MOA with state animal health agency and sheriff’s vehicle purchase

Parmer County Commissioners Court on Feb. 10, 2026, approved a series of routine administrative measures, ratified an interagency agreement with the state animal health agency and authorized the sheriff’s office to purchase a vehicle.
Sharon May, Parmer County treasurer, presented the accounts payable list for Jan. 28, 2026, and the court approved the payments after a motion by Commissioner Casey Russell and a second from Commissioner Charles Wilkins. May also presented the treasurer’s payroll report for Jan. 30, 2026, which the court approved on a motion by Commissioner Kenny White and a second from Commissioner Kirk Frye.
The court reviewed and approved completion of required training hours for the county treasurer and the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3 after a motion by Commissioner Russell and a second from Commissioner Wilkins. Commissioners then approved the slate of election judges for the March 3 primary election on a motion by Commissioner Frye and a second from Commissioner White.
On law enforcement matters, Commissioner Casey Russell moved to approve a Memorandum of Agreement between the Texas Animal Health Commission and the Parmer County Sheriff’s Office; Commissioner Kenny White seconded and the motion carried. The court also authorized a vehicle purchase for the sheriff’s department after a motion from Commissioner Wilkins and a second from Commissioner Russell. The commissioners asked that multiple price quotes be presented for future vehicle purchases.
Sheriff Eric Geske reported the county jail held 16 inmates at the time of the meeting: seven from Parmer County, seven from Lamb County and two from Floyd County.
With no further business, Commissioner White moved to adjourn, Commissioner Russell seconded, and the court adjourned at 10:46 a.m.
The meeting record lists Commissioners Charles Wilkins (Pct. 2), Kenny White (Pct. 3), Casey Russell (Pct. 4) and Kirk Frye (Pct. 1) and County Treasurer Sharon May as present. Isabel Izzy Carrasco and Susan Spring were listed as absent. The minutes indicate other county officials and staff were present, including Tax Assessor-Collector Awyna Sanchez, Sheriff Eric Geske and Deputy County Clerk Mayra Chacon.
