At a special meeting Jan. 31, 2023, the Greenville City Council voted unanimously to buy the property at 208 S. Lafayette for $150,000 and authorized City Manager George Bosanic to sign the documents needed to complete the transaction.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jeff Scoby at 6:00 p.m. Councilperson Lehman moved to approve the purchase agreement and to authorize City Manager George Bosanic to sign all necessary documents; Councilperson Barrus seconded. The motion was adopted unanimously by Mayor Scoby and councilmembers Cunliffe, Barrus, Linton, Moss, Johnson and Lehman.
Earlier in the meeting Councilperson Moss moved, and Councilperson Cunliffe seconded, to enter an executive session to discuss the purchase of real property; that motion also passed unanimously. The council entered executive session at 6:03 p.m. and reconvened at 6:14 p.m. after Councilperson Lehman moved to reconvene and Councilperson Johnson seconded.
