Greenville council approves boat‑launch design, trail‑clearing and cross‑connection program contracts

The Greenville City Council unanimously approved three contracts and a consent agenda at its Feb. 7, 2023 meeting, advancing a boat‑launch design project, trail clearing and an existing water‑safety program.
Councilperson Lehman moved to approve a contract with Prein&Newhof, Inc. for professional design engineering services for the Baldwin Lake Boat Launch project, not to exceed $12,620; Councilperson Johnson seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The action funds engineering work to advance the boat‑launch renovation.
The council also approved awarding a bid to Always There Tree Care, LLC of Ithaca, Michigan, for clearing of trees and brush for the Fred Meijer Trail Hub Project Phase One in an amount not to exceed $15,500. Councilperson Moss moved the award and Councilperson Cunliffe seconded; the motion was adopted unanimously.
Separately, the council approved a two‑year contract extension with H2O Compliance Services, Inc. of Owosso, Michigan, to manage the city's Cross Connection Control Program. The extension was authorized for up to $27,000 total (approximately $13,500 per year); Councilperson Moss moved and Councilperson Lehman seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Those votes followed approval of a consent agenda that included minutes from Jan. 17 and Jan. 31 (regular and closed sessions), the payroll report for the pay period ending Jan. 21, 2023, in the amount of $142,572.88, an accounts‑payable report for the period ending Feb. 2, 2023, in the amount of $352,286.06, the Dec. 12, 2022 Downtown Development Authority minutes, the January financial report, training information and the mayoral reappointment of Steve Kemp to the Greenville Area Community Center Board for a four‑year term ending Dec. 31, 2026. Councilperson Moss moved approval of the consent agenda; Councilperson Lehman seconded and the consent agenda was unanimously adopted.
