Resident objects to scrapping of 1987 firetruck; council approves disposal

Greenville, Mich. — A resident objected during the Statement of Citizens to a council agenda item proposing scrapping an obsolete firetruck, but the City Council voted Feb. 21 to approve the disposal.
Kevin Carlson of 1108 Sprucewood told the council he objected to agenda item VI.C and said he did not want the 1987 FMC pumper scrapped. Despite that objection, Councilperson Lehman moved to approve scrapping the truck in the amount of $3,800; Councilperson Barrus seconded and the motion was adopted unanimously.
