Board approves minutes, OKs vehicle purchase with higher quote and accepts donation for pickleball benches

At its Nov. 3 meeting the Soddy‑Daisy Board of Commissioners approved the minutes of its Oct. 20 meeting and approved a budgeted vehicle purchase despite a higher vendor quote.
City Manager Johnson told the board a Ford F‑250 had been budgeted at $38,000 but the new quote is $45,596; he said he would find a way to make up the approximately $8,000 difference. Following the presentation the board voted (motion and seconder recorded in the minutes) with the ayes noted as unanimous.
City Manager Johnson also reported that Lisa Rue, manager at Citizens Tri‑County Bank, donated funds to purchase two benches for the Pickle Ball Courts at a cost just under $1,000; Public Works Director Grant said the benches were delivered the same day and plaques will note the donors.
The meeting minutes show the board approved the prior meeting minutes as presented and recorded the procurement and donation items as part of the new business/administration section.
