Commissioners approve two community car events; public works to replace signs along Dayton Pike

Jacob Smith requested a "Cruise‑In" on April 1, 2023 at the corner of Depot Street and Wall Street to honor Andre' Newman and asked that Depot and Wall be closed from Back Valley Road to Main Street for the event. Commissioner Keith moved approval; Commissioner Shipley seconded and the board approved the request. Commissioner Shipley advised Smith to coordinate the road closures with the Police Department.
Commissioner Keith raised that several city street signs are missing and asked for timely maintenance and installation of city limit signs on main roads. Public Works Director Grant said that, as part of the upcoming Dayton Pike paving project, all street signs intersecting Dayton Pike will be replaced and asked Commissioner Keith to email a list of other signs needing attention.
Commissioner Penney commended Public Works Director Grant, City Manager Johnson and Commissioner Shipley for patching the driveway to the wrestling gym after a recent tournament; Hamilton County supplied rock and the city placed it, and county officials are working toward paving the driveway.
