Commissioner Penney asked for confirmation of which sections would be paved; Johnson said Dayton Pike would be resurfaced from city limits to city limits but would exclude a stretch recently paved from Fire Hall No. 3 North to Daisy Church of God. The project scope includes new street and road signs, striping, some guardrail replacement and resurfacing of Old Hixson Pike. Johnson said the projected start date is May 15.
Commissioner Shipley moved to authorize the mayor's signature on the Talley Construction contract; Commissioner Penney seconded and the motion passed unanimously. A pre‑construction meeting was reported as having taken place the day before the board meeting.
