Forest County approves employee raises, hires administrative assistant and OKs probation vehicle purchase

Snyder, Jr. moved to approve a 4% pay increase for all employees except Transportation staff, effective Dec. 21, 2025; Commissioner Patrick Kline seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. In a separate motion, Commissioner Snyder moved to approve a $2.00-per-hour raise for all Transportation employees effective the same date; Commissioner Kline seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
On personnel, Commissioner Snyder moved to hire Dakota Gerst as a full‑time administrative assistant in the Transportation Office at a starting rate of $12.94, effective Dec. 8, 2025; Commissioner Kline seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
On fleet procurement, Commissioner Kline moved to approve Chief Probation Officer Mark Roads' request to purchase a 2026 Dodge Durango at a cost of $57,395.00. The funding terms recorded in the motion allocate $15,000 from probation administrative funds and $5,000 from supervision funds; the remaining $37,395.00 is to come from the Operating Reserve PLGIT Account. The Probation Department will make monthly payments into the Operating Reserve at 4.23% interest over a 10‑year term to replenish the account. Commissioner Snyder seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
