The Suffolk County Legislature convened a public hearing May 28, 2024, in the Rose Y. Caracappa Legislative Auditorium to receive testimony on its proposed 2025–2027 Capital Budget. Chairman Anthony Piccirillo led the proceedings and had the clerk call roll before soliciting public comment.
Hope Clark, the chief deputy clerk, conducted roll call; members present included Legislator Anthony Piccirillo (chair of the Capital Budget Working Group), D.P.O. Steve Flotteron and working-group members Tom Donnelly, Catherine Stark, Ann Welker and James Mazzarella. Several other legislators attended and identified themselves as present but not on the working group.
After the chair asked whether any attendees wished to speak, there was no public response or submitted comment cards. Legislator Tom Donnelly moved, “Motion to close the Public Hearing,” and Legislator Dominick Thorne seconded. The chair called for objections, received none, and closed the public hearing by voice. The hearing was adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
No testimony on the capital budget was recorded during the public-comment portion of this session; the Legislature did not take any votes on budget items during the hearing itself.
