Eureka County approves contracts, donations, travel and infrastructure steps in routine business session
Summary

The Eureka County Board of Commissioners approved a range of routine business items at its March 19 meeting.
Land and property: The board approved a boundary-line adjustment for parcels owned by Ferno L. Dubray to separate a residence from adjacent farmland (motion carried 2-0).
Finance and contracts: Comptroller Kim Todd presented expenditures; the board approved the expenses as presented (motion recorded 2-0). The minutes contain inconsistent totals in the expenditure section (the packet records $1,847,713.56 in one line and $1,106,746.54 elsewhere); the board approved the expenditures as recorded in the minutes.
Public safety and services: District Attorney Ted Beutel requested authority to contract for on-call phlebotomy services to serve the DA, Sheriff’s office and State Police (payment of $200 per call); the board approved the contract. The board also approved out-of-state travel for Sergeant Allison Flanagan to attend an April safety conference in San Diego and travel for Deputy Jason Flanagan and Sergeant Brian Shoaf to attend a recruiting fair in Salt Lake City (May 30–31). Temporary credit-card limit increases related to those trips were also approved.
Community events and facilities: The board waived Opera House rental fees for the Eureka Lions Club’s April 3 celebratory dinner honoring Eureka County High School winners and approved a $1,000 donation for a community Easter Egg Hunt and a $2,500 donation to the Eureka County Alumni Association. A request to waive fees for a Junior Baseball League was tabled pending more information.
Infrastructure and operations: The board approved advertising for bids to construct a Snow Removal Equipment building and lighted windsocks at the Eureka Airport under an FAA Airport Improvement Program grant, authorized a 3/4-time Deputy Clerk Recorder hire, and approved a 3/4-inch residential water service application for Crescent Valley property APN 002-033-02.
Each motion was recorded as carried by a 2-0 vote unless the minutes indicate the item was tabled. The Clerk will process follow-up items such as publication of notices, contract execution and bid advertisement.
