During its June 3 worksession the Snowflake Town Council reviewed multiple infrastructure and planning priorities. Topics included extending an easement on McLaws Avenue to connect with an existing legal easement west of the Adair property, negotiating with the Adair property owner on the easement, and offering town assistance to improve the road if the easement is secured.
Council discussed a design grant for Centennial Boulevard that will not extend the design north from 7th Street South (only west), although the grant will include a roundabout at the intersection. Members asked staff to pursue a separate grant to design the portion north of 7th Street South and to begin work on right-of-way and easement needs.
Traffic and pedestrian safety around the school and ballfield on 7th Street South were raised as priorities, including partnering with the school to improve parking flow and extending sidewalks and decorative light poles to match Main Street. Council also discussed whether to charge for the use of the rodeo grounds; the minutes record the question but no decision.
On utilities, council asked for a study of water and sewer rates, saying rates should cover costs and incentivize growth. No formal votes or ordinances were adopted at the worksession.
