The Snowflake Town Council voted on July 1, 2025 to recommend approval to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for a permanent extension of premises/patio permit for Snowflake Smokehouse.
Council members asked whether the patio would be secured so it could only be accessed through the restaurant. Councilmember Stinnett asked about barriers; in response, Bryant said, "there is a requirement to define the boundary, just looking for the patio seating; and there is fencing." Bryant added the expansion would be a "boon" for the business by generating more customers but said year-round operation would likely be difficult because he does not own the entire lot.
Councilmember Sheen moved and Councilmember Kay seconded a motion recommending approval to the state; the motion passed unanimously with Councilmembers Johnson and Bjornn absent. The council’s action was a recommendation to the state licensing authority; final approval rests with the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.
