David Rackliffe told the board the grant could fund conversion and rehabilitation of an area the Sheriff’s office currently uses to store firearms seized pursuant to Maine’s yellow and red flag laws. The board authorized submission of the application by unanimous motion (Tom Skolfield/Tom Saviello, 5–0).
The authorization permits staff to proceed with the grant application; any acceptance of funds would return to the board for final approval and any required procurement or construction decisions.
