Farmington to plow 265 feet of courthouse sidewalk in exchange for parking use, county agrees

Franklin County Commissioners voted to enter into an agreement with the Town of Farmington for the town to plow courthouse sidewalks on Anson Street in exchange for public use of the county parking lot.
Commissioner Tom Saviello requested the county ask Farmington to maintain courthouse sidewalks; Farmington Town Manager Erica LaCroix said the town already plows the east side sidewalk and provided a map showing about 265 feet they could assume for the county. LaCroix stated by e-mail that Farmington cannot shovel walkways or steps. The board approved the agreement by unanimous motion (Tom Skolfield/Fen Fowler, 5–0).
The agreement is a trade of sidewalk plowing for parking-lot access and does not include shoveling of steps or walkways. County staff will finalize an interlocal agreement with the Town of Farmington.
