Franklin County approves FY26–27 Unorganized Territories budget, pending two final figures

Franklin County Commissioners approved the proposed Unorganized Territories (UT) budget for fiscal year 2026–27 on Nov. 18, voting 5–0 to finalize the plan contingent on two remaining figures.
The board opened a public hearing at 1:00 p.m. on the UT budget, which is set at $2,916,656.25. The hearing closed at 1:23 p.m. Commissioners approved the budget as presented, with the approval conditioned on receipt of final numbers related to ambulance services and a survey of the Madrid pit; Commissioner Tom Saviello and Commissioner Tom Skolfield made the approving motion and second (Saviello/Skolfield).
County staff will return the two outstanding figures to the board for final administrative posting. The board adjourned at 1:24 p.m.
The vote was recorded as unanimous; no additional policy changes were made during the hearing.
