Owners of Pine Creek Ski Area outlined expansion plans July 19 and asked Lincoln County commissioners to send a letter supporting a BLM Master Plan update.
Paul and Chris Etcheverry described proposals that include guest cabins, expanded food and beverage service and construction of an outdoor plaza; they said engineering work has proceeded with Sunrise Engineering and asked the board to sign a letter supporting the Master Plan update with the Bureau of Land Management. Amy Butler, county engineer, said a letter from the commissioners will be needed to update the BLM Master Plan and raised parking-area tree clearing as a coordination topic.
Earlier in the meeting Paul Etcheverry also mentioned potential biking and walking trail improvements at the resort. Commissioners agreed to sign a letter of support to the BLM to move the Master Plan update forward.
The request will proceed through the county’s customary coordination with the BLM; details about environmental review, timing or permit conditions were not specified in the minutes excerpt.
