Mercer County commissioners approved payment of vouchers totaling $198,142.85 and handled routine county business during their March 5, 2025 meeting in Stanton.
Chairman Gene Wolf presided over the session. Commissioner Jamee Folk moved to approve the amended meeting agenda; Commissioner Mark Pierce seconded and all commissioners voted aye. Folk later moved to approve the Feb. 20, 2025 minutes with an amendment correcting an Interstate bill amount from $13,582.10 to $31,583.10; Pierce seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board reviewed a plan to transfer $95,000 from the general fund to the landfill for 2025 and placed that item on the next regular meeting agenda for further consideration. The board asked staff to prepare that budget item for the March 20 meeting rather than voting on the transfer at the March 5 session.
Maintenance Supervisor Jim Albers presented a quote to upgrade the commission room video and sound system and provided a separate quote of $3,309.33 for shop door sealant that carries a 25-year warranty. Commissioners requested additional quotes for both projects and indicated the audiovisual upgrade will be considered for the 2026 budget.
The board agreed to move forward with an Eide Bailly quote for a review of January payroll and payroll preparation; the minutes record the board's agreement to proceed. The County Road Department reported interest in acquiring a diagnostic card reader; commissioners requested additional quotes for that possible purchase.
Folk moved to approve January Recorder revenues of $3,423.00; Commissioner Casey Voigt seconded and the motion carried with all voting aye. Later in the meeting Folk moved to approve the bills as presented and Bauman seconded; the commissioners approved payments totaling $198,142.85. The vouchers list includes payments to vendors such as Farmers Union Service Assoc. Ltd ($98,280.00), Neuberger Oil Company ($23,997.92), Tyler Technologies ($11,955.00) and multiple other line items. The minutes list the full voucher register and the total paid.
Commissioner Mark Pierce moved to change the next regular meeting to Thursday, March 20, 2025; Commissioner Rick Bauman seconded and all voted aye. The meeting adjourned at 12:29 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for March 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Mercer County Government Center boardroom in Stanton, North Dakota; meetings can be viewed online at www.mercercountynd.com.
