Commission approves sand-mining temporary use renewal and rezoning for storage units

Tax Director Jennifer Neumiller presented two land-use items at the March 20 Mercer County Commission meeting: a Temporary Use Renewal and a rezoning resolution.
Neumiller introduced Temporary Use Renewal #638 for Energy Sand Solutions LLC to continue sand-mining activity at parcel S2 5-144-85. Commissioner Jamee Folk moved to approve the renewal; Commissioner Casey Voigt seconded and the motion passed with all commissioners voting in favor.
Neumiller then presented Case #25-02-01, a resolution to rezone 12.67 acres owned by Glenn Murray in SW4NW4 16-146-87 from Agricultural to Commercial to allow storage units. Commissioner Rick Bauman moved to approve the rezoning; Mark Pierce seconded and the board voted unanimously to adopt the resolution.
No conditions, waivers or fee amounts for the approvals were recorded in the minutes. Both actions were recorded as motions with unanimous support from the commission.
