Commission adopts state-recommended county road load limits in 4–1 vote

Highway Superintendent Elroy Opp presented the 2025 county road load restrictions to the Mercer County Commission on March 20 and recommended adopting the limits recommended by the state. Commissioner Casey Voigt moved to approve the state-recommended load restrictions and to authorize the County Road Department to place signage as needed; Mark Pierce seconded.
The motion passed 4–1. Commissioners Casey Voigt, Mark Pierce, Jamee Folk and Rick Bauman voted in favor; Chairman Gene Wolf cast the lone dissenting vote. The minutes record the board granted the County Road Department authority to sign roads to reflect the new restrictions.
No additional conditions or waivers were recorded in the minutes. The restrictions will guide seasonal load limits and related enforcement by the county road department; implementation and signage were assigned to that department in the motion.
