Mercer County to seek expedited bids to outsource payroll after software failures

Commissioner Mark Pierce moved the expedited bid action; Commissioner Casey Voigt seconded and the motion carried with all members voting in favor.
Commissioners directed the Auditor's office and HR to be points of contact for employees who encounter problems with their March payroll. No contract award or vendor was named; the motion authorized starting a shortened procurement process to secure temporary outsourcing while the Tyler software issues are resolved.
The commission did not set a deadline for selecting a vendor in the minutes; further procurement steps and any contract awards will be recorded in subsequent minutes or procurement documents.
