Commissioners shorten county comprehensive plan horizon to five years

Commissioner Chad A. Blessinger reopened discussion on a previously distributed Request for Proposal for a County Comprehensive Plan and proposed changes to the plan’s time horizon. After discussion, the board revised the RFP to set the Comprehensive Plan as a five‑year guiding policy (instead of 10 years) and adjusted the project timeframe dates accordingly. The commissioners approved the amended RFP 2-0.
County Attorney Gregory Schnarr will assist Commissioner Blessinger in the process of advertising the revised document. The minutes record that the comprehensive plan will serve as the guiding policy for the county for the stated term; no consultant or procurement details were recorded in the minutes on Feb. 18.
The amendment shortens the planning horizon and may affect the scope and deliverables sought during the procurement and consultant selection process when the RFP is advertised.
