Dubois County to screen courthouse visitors and advertise HVAC funding
Summary

Courthouse Security Officer Tom Bell told the commissioners that training on new security equipment would be held Feb. 4 and that, beginning Feb. 10, 2025, "all individuals entering the courthouse will go through the metal detector and all bags will go through the bag scanner." The board recorded that the new measures and staff training are scheduled to begin in early February.
Separately, Commissioner Chad A. Blessinger reported that the County Council had agreed to advertise an additional appropriation to fund the Courthouse HVAC temperature control system. That appropriation was expected to be approved by the County Council on Feb. 24, 2025, and a contract with vendor Messmer Mechanical will be prepared for presentation to the commissioners on March 3, 2025.
