Dubois County allocates opioid settlement funds to three local recovery programs

The motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously, with the commission adopting the distribution after hearing program overviews and requests earlier in the meeting.
Chief Probation Officer Jenny Lampert had requested $30,000 on behalf of the Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council to support Community Solutions services; the commissioners took that request under advisement during the presentation. Boone Taylor of Operation Mind, Body & Soul was present to answer follow-up questions. Brittany Stout of Safe Haven described the center’s transportation program and requested $74,252 beginning Oct. 1, 2026 to fund one year of transportation services; the board expressed support and reserved final action until the allocation vote.
The allocations the board approved on Feb. 2 reflect the commissioners’ effort to distribute available opioid funds among local treatment, intervention and support programs. The meeting minutes show the motion carried unanimously. The board did not record individual roll-call votes in the minutes; the motion tally was recorded as carried unanimously.
