Fulton County adopts 2026 budget, approves tax levy with no tax increase

Fulton County Commissioners on Dec. 30 adopted the county's 2026 budget and approved a tax levy for the year with no increase in taxes. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget as presented by CFO Mike Lamb and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed; the motion carried with all in favor.
The action follows a presentation by Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed, who told the board there were no changes since the budget was publicly advertised. The board also approved Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution for fiscal year 2026, on a motion by Commissioner Hervey P. Hann.
The meeting included routine fiscal approvals: Commissioners approved accounts payable dated Dec. 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87 (Fund 100 General Fund $98,764.92; Fund 400 Debt Service $14,148.95). The board also approved the December 2025 Pension Report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston.
The commissioners noted administrative follow-ups: Keller Engineer, Inc. was approved for retention for FY2026 and will be formally appointed at the Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026. The board entered an executive session for personnel matters and later adjourned.
The board took formal votes on the budget, tax levy and the routine fiscal items; each motion was announced with the mover recorded and the minutes list the outcome as "all in favor."
