Dollar General license approved; Otter Creek Distillery receives first reading

Calhoun County commissioners on Nov. 14 approved an ABC Board application allowing Dolgencorp LLC, d/b/a Dollar General Store 30718 in Alexandria, to sell retail beer and retail table wine for off-premises consumption.
Jonathan Gaddy presented the second reading of the application for the store at 8145 Alabama Highway 144. Commissioner Howell moved to approve the application; Commissioner Shears seconded and the motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
Gaddy also presented a first reading of an ABC application from Otter Creek Distillery LLC for a 200 Manufacturer license at 3169 Six Foot Road in Ohatchee. The item was presented for first reading only and no formal action was taken.
