Calhoun County reallocates ARPA funds for parks, approves grant applications for trees and energy upgrades

Calhoun County commissioners on Nov. 14 approved reallocating ARPA funds for two park projects and authorized applications for two grants aimed at tree planting and energy improvements.
Administrator Jonathan Gaddy presented a resolution to reallocate ARPA funds for Thankful Park and Ladiga Landing; commissioners adopted the resolution unanimously. The commission also approved and ratified submission of a Good Roots grant to support tree planting at the Alexandria Community Center and the county Agricultural Center. Additionally, commissioners authorized applying for a $50,000 grant through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) State Energy Program to purchase and install HVAC and lighting equipment at county facilities.
All three resolutions were adopted by unanimous voice vote. Meeting minutes indicate the resolutions are attached to the record, but the minutes did not include full grant applications or funding breakdowns.
