Calhoun County to allocate $245,000 in ARPA funds for Clark Road water main improvements

The Calhoun County Commission on Oct. 24 authorized the allocation of $245,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds to the Calhoun County Water Authority for Clark Road water main improvements.
County Administrator Jonathan Gaddy presented the agreement to allocate the funds. Commissioner Shears moved to authorize the chairman to sign the agreement on behalf of Calhoun County; Commissioner Wilson seconded and the motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
Why it matters: The funds are earmarked for local water-infrastructure improvements and will be used by the county water authority to complete the Clark Road project. The allocation uses county ARPA resources and requires coordination between county administration and the water authority.
What’s next: The agreement is on file and the county will execute documents to transfer the ARPA allocation to the Calhoun County Water Authority for project completion.
