Calhoun County adopts FY2025 transportation plan and designates regional commission for urban transit with $52,113 county commitment

Calhoun County commissioners on Aug. 8 unanimously adopted the FY2025 Transportation Plan under the Rebuild Alabama Act and approved related highway bids and transit designations.
County Administrator Jonathan Gaddy presented the plan, which lists projects including McClellan Road, Mahlep Lane, Choccolocco Road, 64th Street, Roy Webb Road, Boiling Springs Road, Parkwood Drive, Mitchellville Road and Morrisville Road. Commissioner Patterson moved to authorize the chairman to sign the plan; Commissioner Howell seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Shears thanked County Engineer Rodney McCain for preparing the plan.
Mr. Gaddy also presented a resolution to designate the East Alabama Regional Commission to provide 5307 Urban Public Transportation Program services in the county's urbanized unincorporated areas; the county committed $52,113 for FY2025. Commissioner Shears moved to adopt the resolution; Commissioner Wilson seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
In addition, the commission adopted a resolution awarding several Highway Department bids (office supplies; fuel; herbicides; crushed stone; bituminous surface; guardrail; concrete). All motions on transportation-related items passed by unanimous voice vote.
