Gladwin holds budget workshop; staff ask for capital plan additions by May 1

Interim City Manager Kimberly Hines told the Gladwin City Council at a special meeting April 28 that the draft budget before the council did not contain final figures and remained subject to change. City staff reviewed the draft page by page and answered council members’ questions.
City staff member Angela Bigham asked council members to review the capital improvement plan and “let her know before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday May 1 about additions to the plan,” and she and Hines worked through the draft with members during the workshop. Hines later discussed elements of the operating budget and reiterated that numbers in the draft were not final.
No public comments were offered at the meeting, and there were no formal motions or votes recorded on the budget. Sarah Kile called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and adjourned it at 7:48 p.m. The council’s stated next procedural step is for staff to collect any proposed CIP additions through the May 1 deadline and incorporate those requests as the budget is further developed.
