Board of Regents approves routine minutes, budgets and multiple program and procurement items

The Western Oklahoma State College Board of Regents voted unanimously Feb. 17 to approve minutes, financial reports, program expenditures, and several policy and procurement items presented at the regular meeting.
The board approved the Dec. 16, 2025 regular meeting minutes following a motion by Regent Darby with a second from Regent Cox. The financial report, presented by Brian Roberts, CPA and Vice President for Business Affairs, was also approved by unanimous vote.
On program expenditures, the board approved a $49,900 GL Travel tour package for Upward Bound Summer 2026 after a motion from Regent Cox and a second from Regent Travis. The board approved the addition of a Sports & Recreation Management option to the Associate in Science in Health, Physical Education and Recreation program on a motion by Regent Vernon.
Procurement approvals included a purchase through Elsevier Educational Solutions for books and materials totaling $58,213.32 and technical coverage plus an extended warranty for Laerdal simulators covering all nursing campus sites at $42,469.29. Both motions were moved and seconded as part of the regular agenda and adopted unanimously.
The board also adopted the Prison Education Program (PEP) Enrollment, Funding, and Course Availability Policy after a motion from Regent Lively and a second from Regent Cox. No dissenting votes were recorded on any item listed on the agenda.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
