Washington County adopts final Strategic Plan, commissioners praise staff

The Washington County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a final Strategic Plan at their April 1 meeting, voting to adopt the document after staff made formatting and wording updates.
County Manager and County Attorney Curtis S. Potter told the board the final draft removed the word “DRAFT” from the cover and included minor verbiage changes for formatting. He said the county provided a copy to the local school superintendent (Superintendent White) but received no feedback.
Commissioner John C. Spruill called the plan “a good road map — good plan for us to work from and move forward,” and several commissioners thanked staff for their work. Commissioner Tracey A. Johnson asked whether plan items will be tied into the capital improvements program; Potter said staff will bring about a half dozen adjustments related to the CIP to the next meeting.
The vote to adopt the plan was made by motion and carried unanimously.
