Charlotte County adds Route 619 to VDOT six-year plan

Scott Frederick presented the county’s VDOT Six-Year Plan at the April 16, 2025 meeting and reviewed the typical inclusion criteria for roads — generally roads serving about five houses or with at least 50 vehicles per day. By consensus the Charlotte County Board of Supervisors added Route 619 (from Route 645 back to the bridge) to the county’s six-year plan.
Frederick said anything on the existing list after Horsepen Creek Road could be moved and that he would provide Administrator Daniel Witt with a draft for the board. Administrator Witt and the board noted that a public hearing must be advertised for two weeks and held before July 1 to finalize changes to the six-year plan.
The addition of Route 619 means the county will proceed to the formal public notice and hearing process required for changes to VDOT’s plan; Frederick will provide the draft plan to county staff to begin that process. No formal roll-call vote is recorded in the minutes for this item; the minutes state the decision was reached by consensus.
