Chase County approves several contracts, insurance settlement and bailiff agreement

Chase County Commissioners on June 25 unanimously approved a series of contracts and settlements covering courthouse and county facility needs.
The board approved surveillance-system quotes from Video Kingdom Electronics for three road shop/EMS locations — $2,171 for Imperial, $1,414 for Wauneta and $1,496 for Lamar — following a presentation by Assistant Highway Superintendent Dick DeWester. Commissioners voted to proceed with the installations at those amounts.
Commissioners signed a Letter of Acceptance for recently installed courtroom technology and approved a two-year Interlocal Agreement to provide a District Court bailiff effective July 1, 2024. The measures received unanimous approval.
The board also approved a Settlement Agreement from NIRMA for $68,678.42 to cover a recent roof repair and authorized two-year fire-alarm testing and inspection agreements with Protex Central for the courthouse ($1,116) and jail ($974).
All motions on these items passed with three affirmative votes from Commissioners Billie Muehlenkamp, Jacci Brown and Kurt Bernhardt. The approvals were described by the board as routine contract and maintenance actions to keep county facilities and court operations functioning.
