Madison County Board approves election-equipment maintenance, IT security support and other routine contracts

At the Jan. 15 Madison County Board meeting, members approved several procurement and contract actions highlighted by election-equipment maintenance, cybersecurity support and engineering services.
The Board authorized a $52,175 preventative maintenance and repair contract with Governmental Business Systems, Inc. for AutoMark voter-assist devices and M100 precinct tabulators; the contract will be paid from the County Clerk's FY2020 election funds.
The Information Technology Department recommended and the Board approved a three-year Sophos support agreement under the OMNIA Partners/Public Sector contract with Insight Public Sector SLED for $62,692, to be paid from FY2020 IT funds. Committee members said the renewal met county specifications.
The Board also adopted a resolution to participate in the Office of the State's Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor service program and appropriated $42,000 to cover the county’s share for Dec.1, 2019–Nov.30, 2020; the measure passed on a recorded vote of 27–0.
In Transportation business, the Board approved a $120,000 preliminary engineering agreement with Oates Associates to design replacement work for the McCoy Road over Rocky Branch (Lambert Bridge), charged to the County Bridge Fund. The Board also accepted final payment for Seminary/Union School Road patching and recorded right-of-way actions for County Yard Bridge projects.
All procurement and contract items were presented by the appropriate standing committees and approved by the Board as recorded in the meeting minutes.
