Votes at a glance: Madison County Board approves contracts, grants and appropriations

Key approved items included:
- Jen Mechanical, Inc.: Award of a contract to replace the rooftop air conditioner/furnace at the Madison County Annex Building for $105,255, to be paid from Facilities Management Capital Projects Emergency Building Repairs Funds (resolution submitted by Facilities Management Committee).
- CDW-G: Purchase of Microsoft software licensing and maintenance renewal at $64,567.66 for the Information Technology Department, to be paid from FY2021 IT funds (Information Technology Committee).
- Grants/Appropriations: Two immediate emergency appropriations were approved based on Illinois Supreme Court Commission Access to Justice grants: $8,112 for a Self-Represented Litigant (SRL) Orders of Protection program and $20,000 for an SRL Eviction Mediation program (Finance & Government Operations Committee).
- Workers' compensation settlement: The board authorized a full and final settlement of File #19-010 in the amount of $30,000 (Finance Committee).
- Property restoration payment: Payment of Belfor Property Restoration invoices totaling $21,276.61 under the county's Self-Funded Liability Program was authorized (Finance Committee).
- 911 PSAP reimbursements: The board approved payments totaling $755,820 to Madison County PSAPs and related entities for Jan. 1'June 30, 2021 call costs (Emergency Telephone System Board).
- Flygt pumps: SSA #1 purchase of twelve Flygt pumps from Vandevanter Engineering for $94,875 was approved (Sewer Facilities Committee).
Each item was presented with committee recommendations and adopted. The resolutions record the responsible vendor or program, funding source and that purchases or reimbursements will be made from the named departmental funds.
What's next: Implementation steps include contract execution by the County Board Chairman, payment processing, and routine follow-up by the respective departments. Several items called for standard procurement and committee oversight per county policy.
