Greenville council unanimously approves routine agenda and a string of project purchases

The Greenville City Council unanimously approved a package of routine and project-specific actions at its Sept. 5 meeting, voting to adopt the consent agenda and to authorize several contracts and purchases for city operations.
The consent agenda — which included amended minutes from meetings earlier in 2023, payroll and accounts-payable reports, minutes from the Historic District Commission and Downtown Development Authority meetings, the July financial report and training information — was moved by Councilperson Moss and seconded by Councilperson Lehman and adopted without dissent. The consent items also included setting a public hearing for Oct. 3, 2023, on a proposed amendment to Chapter 42, Article I, of the City Code to regulate motor vehicles.
