The Greenville City Council elected Councilperson Jeff Scoby as mayor and Councilperson Claude Johnson as mayor pro-tem during its Jan. 2 organizational meeting, and unanimously approved the council’s 2024 meeting schedule and a slate of committee and board representatives.
The meeting, called to order by Clerk Krissi Brott at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Complex, listed Councilpersons Lehman, Linton, Cunliffe, Barrus, Moss, Johnson and Scoby as present. City Manager Bosanic, Assistant City Manager Feazel and Public Safety Director Blomstrom were also noted as attending.
Ballot votes were cast for mayor and for mayor pro-tem; the transcript records that Councilperson Scoby was selected as mayor and Councilperson Claude Johnson was selected as mayor pro-tem. The adopted assignments included (as listed in the minutes): Airport Advisory Board — Lehman; Annexation Committee — Scoby, Lehman, Moss; Charter Review Committee — Moss, Cunliffe, Linton; City Manager Evaluation Compensation Committee — Johnson and Linton; Danish Festival Board — Barrus; Downtown Development Authority — Scoby; Elections Commission — Cunliffe; Eureka Township Board Liaison — Scoby; Financial/Audit Evaluation Committee — Johnson, Cunliffe, Lehman; Greenville Area Community Center Board — Moss; Greenville Housing Commission — Lehman; Planning Commission — Moss; County Commissioner Board Liaison — Scoby (alternate Moss). The agenda text shows the list as adopted “as amended.”
Clerk Krissi Brott led the Pledge of Allegiance at the opening of the meeting and announced there were no statements from citizens. The meeting was adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
